KWT Mawar Bone Develops Vegetable Seeds, Encourages Residents' Food Independence
BONE, GARISBUMI.com – Vegetable breeding at the Mawar Women's Farming Group (KWT), Bukaka Village, Tanete Riattang District, Bone Regency, is one of the efforts to encourage productive land use and community food independence.
The nursery location by the Gowa Agricultural Development Polytechnic (Polbangtan) was visited by the Regent of Bone, Andi Asman Sulaiman, Tuesday (20/10/2026), after monitoring environmental cleanliness in the Bukaka area.
Various vegetable seeds were developed at that location, including chilies, eggplant, kale and spinach. The existence of these nurseries opens up opportunities for the development of agricultural activities in the community.
In a written statement, the Bone Regency Government said that the existence of KWT Mawar is expected to support productive land use, encourage food independence, and increase citizen participation in local agriculture.
The visit was an opportunity for the local government to see the potential for developing vegetable crops managed in the community.
Monitor Cleanliness Ahead of the Adipura Assessment
Before visiting KWT Mawar, Andi Asman led a morning walk with local government officials while inspecting the cleanliness of the residential environment and public facilities in Bukaka Village.
This monitoring is part of the Bone Regency Government's preparations for the 2026 Adipura Assessment.
