Lampung Apparatus Strengthened to Face Environmental Challenges, KLHS Training Becomes Priority
SOUTH TANGERANG, GARISBUMI.com – The Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLH)/Environmental Control Agency (KLH/Environmental Management Agency (BPLH)) is strengthening the capacity of Lampung Provincial Government officials in dealing with increasingly complex environmental problems. Strategic Environmental Studies (KLHS) training is one of the priority programs in this collaboration.
This commitment is stated in the Cooperation Agreement on Environmental Human Resources Competency Development between the Center for Environmental Human Resources Development (PPSDM LH) and the Regional Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDM) of Lampung Province.
The agreement, which is valid for three years, was signed by the Head of PPSDM LH Mini Farida and the Head of Regional BPSDM Lampung Province M. Alhusnuriski in South Tangerang, Thursday, September 17 2026.
Mini said that ecological problems that continue to grow require competent, adaptive and professional state civil servants and human resources. Therefore, cooperation between the central and regional governments is needed to increase competence in accordance with needs in the field.
"Current environmental management and protection challenges require the readiness of the State Civil Service and human resources to be competent, adaptive and professional. Within this framework, strategic collaboration between the central government and regional governments is the main key," said Mini.
Training Tailored to Lampung's Needs
This collaboration includes KLHS training, provision of learning facilities and infrastructure, as well as various advanced competency development programs in the environmental sector.
SEA is an important instrument for ensuring that sustainable development principles are integrated into local government policies, plans and programs. Therefore, the ability of the apparatus to prepare and implement KLHS influences the quality of development planning in Lampung.
